How often should I get a facial?
Clients who schedule facials regularly, tend to come in
either once a month, bimonthly, or every three months. This is determined by
each client's particular
skin care needs, and the therapeutic value these treatments offer.
Why should I get a facial, isn't soap enough?
A facial is much more than just washing your face. The cleaning process
is taken a step further with the introduction of deep cleaning
exfoliants. Your skin is analyzed and recommendations are made
based on your own unique skin care needs. Professional brands of
cleansers, like Sothys and Jan Marini Skin Research, are designed
to address various skin types, unlike soaps that can be harsh and
detergent like, can strip the skin of it's moisture and change
it's delicate balance. Nourishing products are applied only after
your skin is analyzed. A facial is an important part of taking
of your self as a whole. Like a visit to the dental hygienist,
or taking your car to a mechanic, skin care is something you would
leave in the hands of a professional for "major maintenance" as
opposed to everyday care.
How do I avoid wrinkles?
Stay out of the Sun! The majority of wrinkles are a direct cause of over exposure
to the sun's damaging rays.
I have wrinkles, how do I minimize them?
First consult with your facialist about the many new skin care technologies
on the market designed to reverse the signs of aging. Then give your skin a
fighting chance - use sunblock, wear a hat on sunny days and stay in the shade
whenever possible.
Waxing, will it hurt?
Not necessarily, I tell my clients who are new to waxing that the anticipation is
often worse than the actual experience. It usually takes a lot less time than they
expected. I wish I had a nickel for every time I've heard someone say "That wasn't
bad at all! Why did I wait so long?".
How long does it take for the hair to grow back?
Although everybody is different, regular waxing clients tend to schedule their
appointments about every four to six weeks.
For the summer season:
Give your skin a fighting chance - use sunblock, wear a hat on sunny days and
stay in the shade whenever possible.
